Other ways to give

CHAMBER MUSIC ENDOWMENT FUND

In 1996, Robert and Sonia Hamburger, both avid chamber music supporters and both on faculty at UC San Diego, established the Hamburger Chamber Music Endowment Fund. When ArtPower was created in 2004, the Chamber Music Series became an integral part of the program. The Hamburger Chamber Music Endowment Fund continues to provide critical funding to the ArtPower Chamber Music Series. As it continues to build, it will allow for long-term planning of these important performances.

MAKE A PLAN TODAY TO CREATE AN IMPACT TOMORROW

Did you know that there is more than one way for you to support Art Power? From a gift in your will or trust to a beneficiary designation in your retirement account to a donation of appreciated securities, there are many types of non-cash gifts that will help ArtPower achieve our goals. With a planned gift, you not only benefit ArtPower and you also can:

  • receive a lifetime income stream
  • lower taxes now or later in your estate
  • avoid capital gains and receive charitable deductions
  • create a legacy that can last for generations

Here are some planned gift ideas that will help you support the ArtPower programs you love:

WILL OR TRUST GIFT
Make a revocable gift to ArtPower in your will or living trust. Your gift can be amended any time if your circumstances change.

APPRECIATED SECURITIES
Giving appreciated securities to support ArtPower can be more tax efficient than giving cash. You receive an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities without paying any capital gains tax.

RETIREMENT PLAN ASSETS
Avoid unnecessary taxation. Retirement plans such as IRAs, 401(k)s and 403(b)s are subject to income tax and possibly estate tax. Retirement plan assets left to ArtPower transfer tax-free. And don’t forget that the IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER is now a permanent gift-making option for those 70 1/2 and older.

LIFE INCOME GIFTS
Make a gift to ArtPower and receive income for life. Charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts provide an income stream for life and a charitable deduction in the year the gift is made.

GIFTS OF REAL ESTATE
Real estate can be given outright and you will receive a charitable income tax deduction for its full fair market value, or you can transfer your home to UC San Diego and ArtPower now and retain the right to live there for your lifetime.

LIFE INSURANCE
ArtPower receives an extraordinary gift by being named as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy and you retain flexibility if your circumstances change.
