About

Opener: Gitkin

Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré has earned international acclaim for his electrifying stage presence and singular blend of desert blues, rock, and West African traditions. His collaborations with Dave Matthews, Derek Trucks, John Scofield, and Khruangbin reflect a career that moves easily across genres and traditions, underscoring his place as a leading voice in contemporary global music.

The son of Ali Farka Touré, one of Mali’s most revered artists, he continues a remarkable legacy while forging a distinctive path of his own. Part of our season opening weekend, Touré returns after a sold-out 2022 performance at The Loft, combining irresistible rhythms, joyful energy, and the kind of musicianship that turns first-time listeners into devoted fans.
