Third Person (2023), was forged from the personal reflections of the actors together with the director and also from interviews with interpreters and with deaf consumers of interpreting services. This production is the third Ebisu showing. Ebisu began in 2014 as part of the “Grammar of the Body” research project led by Professor Wendy Sandler, Director of the Sign Language Research Laboratory at University of Haifa. It consisted of eight deaf actors, one hearing actress, and a hearing director, Professor Atay Citron, of the Department of theater at the University of Haifa. The project was supported by a European Research Council grant.
